Solution :
Since, in 3.6 litres of petrol, the distance covered = 68.4 km

= \(\frac{684}{36}\) = 19 km

A bottle contains 5.4 L of juice. If each glass holds 0.3 L, how many glasses can be filled from the bottle?
Solution :
Since, a bottle contains 5.4 L of juice, and a glass can hold 0.3 L of juice.
So, required number of glasses = 5.4 ÷ 0.3
= \(\frac{54}{3}\)
= 18
Thus, 18 glasses are needed to fill the juice from the bottle.

Solution :
Area of the square = a²

Solution :
The height of 120 pages is
120 × 0.05 = 6 cm
The height of 150 pages is :
150 × 0.05 = 7.5 cm
The difference in height :
7.5-6 = 1.5 cm

Solution :
Convert 2 ft 9 inches into feet :
1 foot = 12 inches
9 inches = \(\frac{9}{12}\) ft
= 0.75 ft
2 ft 9 inches = 2 + 0.75
= 2.75 ft
Compare with 2.9 ft :
2.75 ft ≠ 2.9 ft
The cupboard was made 2.9 ft, which is longer than the actual measurement of 2.75 ft, so it could not fit properly.

Harmeet purchased 3.5 kg of potatoes at the rate of Rs. 13.75 per kg. How much money should she pay in nearest rupees?
Solution :
Cost of 1 kg of potatoes = Rs. 13.75.
Cost of 3.5 kg of potatoes = Rs. 13.75 × 3.5

So, cost of 3.5 kg of potatoes = Rs. 48, to the nearest rupees.

What decimal gives the same result when multiplied by 9 as it does when 9 is added to it?
Solution :
Find a decimal x such that
x × 9 = x + 9
9 x = x + 9
9 x – x = 9
8 x = 9
x = 9 / 8
x = 1.125, is the required number.

The area of a auditorium is 927.5 square feet. If each student requires 2.5 square feet of space, how many students can fit in the auditorium?
Solution :
It would be 927.5 ÷ 2.5.

Therefore, 371 students could fit in the auditorium if each student takes up 2.5 square feet of area.

A ceiling fan rotates at a speed of 85 rotations per minute. If the speed regulator is adjusted to increase the speed 3.2 times, find the number of rotations made by the fan in one minute.
Solution:

Solution:
Make the divisor a whole number
Move the decimal 3 places right in 0.005 arrow it becomes 5.
Move the decimal 3 places right in 2.8 arrow it becomes 2800.
So, 2.8 ÷ 0.005 = 2800 ÷ 5

2.8 ÷ 0.005 = 560
