The Raven and the Fox Class 6 Summary in English
Mr Raven perched on a branch of a tree with a morsel in his great big beak. The fox wanted to eat the morsel because he would have to go far and wide to find food. So, the cunning fox tried to flatter the bird.
He addressed him as ‘Sir’ and told him that he was very handsome, with shimmering feathers. He coaxed him to sing. He told him if he would sing, the birds of the woods would proclaim him king. The Raven could not look through his trick. He forgot that he could not sing at all, he could only croak.

But flattered by false praise he opened his beak and began to croak. The moment he opened his mouth, the morsel fell down and the fox pounced on it and laughed at the foolish Raven. We must not fall into the trap of sweet words, it is unwise to be flattered. We must never trust a flatterer.
