It is not as if you are throwing an unprepared animal into it. For example in horse racing the horses used are thoroughbreds. In bull fighting the animals used are specifically bred for the sport. Yes bull fighting could be considered nowadays as inhumane but it is part of a tradition in Spain and other countries and we should accept and respect that.

Therefore, what is necessary is that we use science as our slave – take the utmost advantage from it but not permit it to become our master. Let science remain our ‘slave’ and not allow it to become oui master. Let science like Alladin’s ‘genie’ remain in Alladin’s controlling power and not let it overpower and become a menace to mankind.

My little black bird was without doubt, the sweetest, most timid little bird on the planet or so I thought, until I witnessed his darker side. I had named him nightingale due to its sweet chirpings.
Nightingale spent his days on my secluded little porch; the back of his cage to the wall to give him a sense of security. Being such a little bird with toothpicks for legs, Nightingale could be understandably described as chicken-hearted. Well, he is only a feather-weight!
Sometimes a neighbouring bird would swoop in for a close-up of his cage, observe the tasty apple slice protruding through the bars, and whisk it away. The wild sparrow-birds were the usual culprits. Nightingale would observe all this in silence and stillness from the very back of his cage – until today.
I had picked some lovely crisp lettuce leaves which I attached to the cage with a clothes peg. No sooner had I stepped back inside and shut the door behind me, than I noticed a sunbird swooping for the lettuce. I hid to watch.
There before my eyes, I witnessed a transformation – timid little Nightingale turned macho protector of his patch. Not only was he standing with one foot on top of the lettuce and the other clinging to the side of the cage, but his wings were spread out to cover his prize. No sunbird was going to get his treat – no way!
Mind you, I’m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that tiny sunbirds were the only birds on the block smaller than him. But observing him I was not only amused but also realised the truth of the proverb that still waters run deep.
ii. We all experience a situation which poses a challenge to us. Narrate an account of such an experience, narrating how you met the challenge.

When I was in high school, I was a very good student. I got good grades, I was involved in extracurricular activities, and I had a lot of friends. But in my junior year, I started to struggle. I was taking a lot of hard classes, and I was starting to feel overwhelmed. I also started to have some personal problems, and I was feeling really stressed out.
One day, I was in my math class, and I was completely lost. I couldn’t understand anything that the teacher was saying. I felt like I was going to fail the class. I was so stressed out that I started to cry.
After class, I went to my teacher’s office and told her what was going on. She was very understanding, and she helped me to come up with a plan to get back on track. She gave me extra help after class, and she helped me to find a tutor. I also started to see a therapist to help me deal with my personal problems.

That night when the greetings and the supper were over, the entire family, sat together in the front porch! Alicia, not haughty but silent, sat in the shadow dressed in an exquisite pale-gray tea gown.
When Robert saw his father sitting without his pipe and writhing in his heavy boots – a sacrifice to rigid courtesy-he shouted: “No, you don’t!” He fetched the pipe and lit it; he seized the old gentleman’s boots and tore them off. The last one slipped suddenly, and Mr. Robert Walmsley, tumbled off the porch backward. Tom laughed sarcastically.
“Come out here, you rustic,” Robert cried to Tom, “and I’ll wrestle with you.”
Tom understood the invitation and accepted it with delight. Three times they wrestled on the grass. Dishevelled, panting, each still boasted of his own prowess. The rustic mania possessed Robert. He sang, he told stories that set all but one shrieking; he was mad, mad with the revival of the old life in his blood.
By and by Alicia asked permission to ascend to her room, saying that she was tired On her way she passed Robert. He was standing at the door, the figure of vulgar comedy, with ruffled hair, reddened face and utter confusion of attire – no trace there of the 30 immaculate Robert Walmsley, the ornament of the cultured society.
As Alicia passed in, Robert started suddenly. He had forgotten for the moment that she was present. Without a glance at him she went on up the stairs. Robert followed her.
